FORD AEROSPACE uses Formscan for Purchase
Ford Aerospace, located in Palo Alto, CA, selected Formscan from Graphics
Development International to assist the Purchasing Department process purchase orders.
A number of preprinted forms have been scanned into the system. The scanned preprinted
forms then serve as a guideline or base to complete new purchase orders. The users are
prompted for information in a "fill in the blank" style application. The data
entered is stored in an R-Base Database. The form is then downloaded with the datafile to
dedicated laser printers on demand.
There are 17 heavy users in purchasing and some 35 other users in material management.
A combination of PC/'s and HP Laser Printers are used in forms processing at Ford
Aerospace.
